Thinking about getting a tattoo

After years of debating with myself over whether or not I want to get a tattoo I have finally decided to go for it! The only thing I'm worried about (besides the pain of course) is if I should be worried how it will look once I have lost weight. I've still got a ways to go before I reach my target weight so I expect my body will change. Has anyone got any advice for me?

Hey cupcake,

I'm no expert when it comes to tattoos but I do have a few of them If you still have a fair amount of weight to lose then my advice would be to avoid getting the tattoo on any of the more fleshy body parts as they will be more likely to sag if your skin is loose. If you get put it somewhere tighter...your shoulder area for example, then there's a much bigger chance that the tattoo will keep its shape. The nice thing about having it there is also because you have more control over who sees it! So there's no reason for your boss to know that you got one but if you feel like showing it off then you can just throw on a tank top. Keep in mind though that any muscular/bony areas of your body will be a bit more painful when it comes to applying the tattoo. But I wouldn't worry about that too much. I have never had one that was really painful. I think people exaggerate so it makes them seem tough

Also, consider your design carefully because it will stay with you for life...Good luck!

Wow, thanks Lilly! You sure sound like an expert to me, lol. I had been thinking about putting it on my shoulder area or at the base of my neck so that my hair can cover it when I don't feel like showing it off. I really appreciate your advice. I'm so excited and can't wait to get it done now
